What is the Worship Ministry?

The Worship Ministry is the parent to a few ministries, which are:

• Worship Team – those you see each Sunday up in front leading the praise time.
• Audio/Visual – those you don’t see who facilitate worship by making sure the music sounds good and the video slides work.
• Creative Team – the behind-the-scenes group of people who come up with ideas to accentuate certain ideas from the sermon through any means (skits, special music, the “going-home” application, etc.).
  
  

Why do we worship?

We worship because we were made to do so. In the Psalms, God asks us to come, to sing, and to shout His praise. In Psalm 150, we are told to use whatever instruments necessary to worship Him. Why? Because our God is great and is worthy to be praised! So whether it is by song, by prayer, or by life, worship is something we as believers commit to do every day. Paul said in Romans 12:1-2:

"1Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. 2Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind..."

Paul says our lifestyle is what worships God. We worship the Lord by being transformed by God's love, and living that out in our own lives. So, the goal of the worship ministry is to teach people that musical worship is but one facet of worshiping God, and that worshiping the Lord means sacrificing your desires for His desires.
